As part of the offers, OnePlus is offering Rs 1,500 discount on HDFC Bank Credit and Debit cards on purchase of OnePlus 6 across all channels. Customers can also avail no cost EMI option on Amazon India. Other offers include 20 percent off for students on OnePlus 6 cases and covers at all OnePlus exclusive online and offline stores. This follows OnePlus student ambassador program announced early this month as an effort to connect OnePlus devices with students in the campus.
“Our core users are between the ages of 18-35 and students form almost 30 percent of that community. Students are the most demanding consumers who believe in making educated purchases backed by extensive research and therefore, investing in a premium smartphone becomes that much more crucial,” Vikas Agarwal, General Manager, OnePlus India said in a released statement.
OnePlus has also confirmed its plan to setup second headquarters in India as it aims to retain the leadership in the premium smartphone segment. The company also plans to start a local R&D centre aimed to design and innovate for the Indian consumers soon.The company confirmed that it is expanding its service centers from 12 to 25 n the country. OnePlus also plans to start selling its smartphones via offline markets as it aims for a larger pie in India’s competitive smartphone market. Counterpoint Research notes that OnePlus registered 192 percent growth in sales during the first quarter alone.
